Sauna and Poetry

At Leeds Community Sauna

Join Seki Lynch on a dreamy sauna session and relax into a meandering medley of poems that explore our connecton to the natural world, other people and the universe.

Seki has selected four poems with themes of humanity, connection, love, and the sublime.

A white crack in grey sky

Beetle-bore cone, dried in flames

You fell, to the burnt furs beneath

Still warm, nestled in their heat.”

‘Kin’

After a welcoming cuppa, we’ll head into the sauna where Seki will recite poems of his own or favourites by other poets. After each poem, there’ll then be space for you to quietly drift off into your own consciousness, as the heat of the sauna permeates your bones. After ten or so minutes in the sauna, there’ll be a short break, for air, a cold plunge and to reset your poetic nubbins.
